Nate announces the need for us as Americans and people all around the globe that we need to be kind to one another. Nate then explains the Beatitudes of Jesus from Matthew 5 in a way in which you probably never heard them explained.
Nate talks about the crazy and dangerous idea of theocracy and the push in which many white evangelicals feel that it is their responsibility to bring about a Christian government. When Jesus walked the earth they tried to make him king. Jesus refused and went to the mountains alone to pray. Probably because he may have been as tempted as you or I.
Nate talks about Memorial day. Nate also talks about a lot of issues in which the church has decided in many different ways to take a stand. Education, immigration, the cult of Trump, and how this all falls into memorial day and our desire to remember those who died in service to our country and those who have passed on who served our country.
Nate talks about the new proposed Farm Bill which was recently rejected in the House. Nate looks at the atrocities committed by the government and big corporations which for all practical purposes practice slavery in the United States.
Nate talks about hell in this episode. Has hell been a tool for manipulation and control of the people by the church for thousands of years? What does the bible really say?
Nate takes us on a journey out of the bondage of fundamental religion and into spiritual freedom. True Freedom is not found in what you do, true freedom is found within. Knowing God is something that is only grasped through the acknowledgment that you cannot know God.
What if there was no failure or success, just doing? Positive or negative, just being? Right or wrong, just love? Doing, Being, Love.

The church of fish, that is what we are. Follower the leader, do not question, God forbid you do not believe everything. Believe it or not we probably lie to ourselves more than we lie to others. Or, I could be telling a lie now? What kind of person do you want to be? A follower or a leader? A person who seeks material gain? Or someone who seeks what is greater? Listen up!
We live in a country in which it cost more money to imprison someone for a year than it does to send them to college. This is disturbing when the majority of inmates are not exceptional threats to society they are just poor misguided souls in need of change. I also talk about the prison of the mind. Paradise is how you perceive it regardless of where you are at. I hope that you listen with an open mind and be set free today!
Another school shooting leaving 17 dead. As we try to wrap our minds once again around another tragedy, the question is continually raised, why? and what can we do? Faith without works is dead. James tells us if you give someone a blessing without helping them physically, what good is that? I do not have the answers, but we need to work together to bring about a reduction in the violence in our society.
What is it to be a Christian? Is it saying a prayer? Living a certain way to fit in with other "Christians." If you are a politician and quote verses to get votes, is that Christian? Maybe it is just simply being human?
Nate uses the teachings of Jesus so that we can live a life which is one of decreased self, and increased God.
Nate gets personal with his own struggles with his son. With his own pain as a father. How our perfect Father has been put through pain and suffering because of our rebellion. Yet God is love, the never ending love of the Father is beyond our understanding. It is time to except his love.
Nate has fun on this episode of The Backyard Preacher. Just hold on and enjoy the ride!
Nate talks about the power of the Word! Our words are more powerful than any of us realize. The ignorant speak life and death without any hesitation. Let us not be ignorant but use the power of the word to the glory of God.
As we leave 2017 and start 2018 we are living in the most divisive time that many of us have ever experienced. Left, right, liberal conservative, progressive, fundamental. What has divided us as Christians has been Jesus, but what will unite us will also be Jesus! Listen and be blessed!
I hope you get that big TV as we are in the season of greed. Is that what Christmas is all about? Nate explains a bit in his own way what Christmas is all about.
As Christians where is the country? Are we a bunch of closed minded dominionist? People who have it my way or the highway? Absolutist who do not think for themselves? Nate does not have the answers but I do know how to talk about some possibilities. My only hope is that Christians in America are not so willing to sell their souls for political power.
Nate talks about the huge increase in pay that corporations in America will receive if all goes as planned for the Republican party, in their efforts to pass a new tax bill. The old trickle down scam! Do you really think that corporations are going to increase your wage?
What is there really to be thankful for? Holiday stress, family with happy fake smiles living in homes they can not afford thankful for the bank to give out a loan. It seems like the most thankful people are the people with the least. Holidays are a high point in our lives. Days of remembrance in which should carry over all year long. Listen as Nate talks about Thanksgiving and much more!
Nate talks about true, vs. false spirituality. Specifically mind altering substances. In Nate's opinion the most spiritual people are those with or with past substance issues. The people who are seekers of something outside of themselves. Yet substance method comes at a high price. While True spirituality is found within yourself through natural means of journeying.
Nate puts a interesting twist on the parable of the wedding feast. Nate also talks about our mental health and gun control issues.
