Welcome to The Backyard Preacher Podcast!

Stay Inspired God loves you!

Jul 27, 2016

Nate talks about Jesus being the only way to the father.  But what about all of the other people born during that time who never heard of him?  What about those born before and after that lived and died?  This is a very touchy subject one I pondered on not touching but felt for evangelism sake it was a must.  It is also a lesson in being able to say that I don't know.  I think we preachers do not say those 3 words enough.  We think we know something of the divine yet in many instances we are way off track.

Nate talks about washing your brother's feet just as Jesus did for his disciples, even Judas!  Nate looks at the political climate of the evangelical push to support Trump for president and the need for us as Christians of the progressive type to wash the feet of those who persecute us.  We need to listen to the words of Christ and cleanse one another.

Jul 15, 2016

Nate talks about what God is pleased by the most, in fact the only thing that pleases God that is faith.  Nate uses the text of Luke 14 and John 6 to show the faith in which Jesus possessed and tried to pass on to his disciples.  Nate shows how we should be able to perform the same works of Christ just as we are called yet even commanded to do.

Jul 9, 2016

Nate takes on the serious topic of police brutality and the targeting of the African American community.  Slavery, injustice, and the prison system.  White privilege, and the spiritual power of unity with our brothers and sisters of all colors, and groups.  Nate calls for peace at the foot of the cross.
